Difference in tone between P90 and Bucker sized single

I haven't made it yet......but looking at around 8ishk...maybe up to around 8.5 , tried 43 on the last one but didn't really stretch the wire so might get a bit more on , could have also maybe left another mm each end of the bobbin but I think unless I go a taller bobbin that 44 is the only way for me top go.

the thing is these things never really sound like good P90s. I had two versions I was making, pain in the ass to make, one used an unusual secret I came up with, I still have sound clips on my site if you want to hear, they are called KayBars. I'm going to try a new idea using stock parts instead of hand building all the parts. Basically they don't sound like P90s they are a P90 "style" pickup and I discouraged customers from buying them if they were looking for real P90 tones. getting 8K of 42 on one can be done but you end up with a tall coil and loss of magnetic power from the long travel, the taller coil makes them brighter than P90s, they just aren't a great design, I'm hoping my new design which nobody has thought of might be cool but it won't be a P90, it will be a unique idea, not new but not done before.......
