What's the height size of the D and G mag. on a staggered Tele bridge PU?

I just found the one I have that looks like yours with the black baseplate and it's definitely from a 63 the customer left it with me years ago to get rewound (Kent Armstong rewound it for me before I got into pickup making) I gave the customer a pickup that I had rewound by hand (not very well) and he liked the sound so much that he never asked for the old one back although he did pay me for the Armstrong rewind. I suppose he might want it back someday!

The owner told me that there was a period in time where they used also black bases bobbins, I forgot the exact date. What I also noticed is that this slug is wound with either HFormvar or this reddish poly that looks like the wire StewMac is selling. I tell ya, things are weird these days and you'll never know for sure if things are fake or vintage correct. So personally I don't give a damn because I fortunately have bought my vintage guitar armada 3 decades ago and I'm not planning to do risky investments in the future.
However I can#t really tell for sure wether this wire is vintage correct or not. Someone else might know better. I remain curious.

Andrew, can you please do me a favor and take a close look wether or not it is wound CCW? I'm am still a little confused about this issiue. The corresponding hum cancelling neck pU I did to go w. the bridge pu in question is exactly how you do it w. a strat wound. In this case mag. north up and CW wound with the ending wire on the right eyelet hot w. white wire. It now works well w. the bridge PU. I think this is only working if the bridge PU must have been wound CW which would lead me to think that it must have been rewound the wrong direction assuming that all Telecaster PU were wound ccw.

This has been discussed so many times before but Teles, Jazzmaster,P Bass and Jazz Bass were PE but as does happen some did escape heavy formvar and Fender wasn't into the reverse wind in those days except on the bass pickups. Cw was the norm on Teles and black forbon till the mid 60s. The fact of mixed black and whiite came up from having stock of both colours and whatever got picked up got used. John Entwhistle once told me he had P Bass no5 but as I said at the time was that the builders had racks of necks and plates and parts in bins so it may have been 3 or 9 who knows. Poly much to workforce disgust came in with CBS but there was still stock to be used and there is stuff out there that may not be period correct but as with Gibbo it was get it built get it sold.

Assuming that Armstrong rewired it as original looking on the pickup from above the start wire is on the right hand side the same as on the photo you posted above of the mid 60's. south top I've got some custom pu's here which are the opposite start side but with south top polarity . Probably worth a check on google images to see what else is around.

Jonson is saying cw, this source says ccw and from what I saw within the last days google pics are not easy to view when trieing to see where the starting wire starts, unless you assume that the starting wire is always together w. the black wire. I'm not sure if that is always the case.
