I virtually gave away almost 30 pounds of it a few months back. I'd had it for a few years. Bought it, hoping that AWC would have gotten the PE issues sorted out since the last time I used it.. around 2004. Nope. Wound a few coils, shelved it, and never touched it again.
The copper is not annealed properly. That's why it skips, bounces, and breaks when you wind it. The insulation is not cured properly. That's why it smells.

If anyone has some to sell, I may be interested, but it has to meet diameter specs on a micrometer. I would need a couple inches to measure since most people use micrometers wrong, even the wire sellers get it wrong.http://www.SDpickups.com

Just out of interest what is the correct way of using a micrometer to measure pickup wire ? Thank you in advance.
