+1 and it's worth pointing out that it covers all areas of music. Marching band instruments, church organs, classical orchestra instruments etc. plus additional music related stuff.

Actually I'm pretty sure the NAMM show is only half the size of the Frankfurt musik messe. That said it's one of the loudest, most annoying things I've ever been to. I'd call it 75% freak show with onlookers.

I'll stick to the guitar shows, more fun and interesting. probably cost a lot less too in the long run if you are a vendor.

The one thing that I have seen in the last years is the downed economy and its effect on the guitar shows... seems I'm seeing this problem on everything including sales on Ebay and where I live. Just doesn't seem to be a sellers market much over the last years...

for all those attending NAMM this year - don't forget to submit your entries to 'I touched the mullet' before the show closes on Sun. Reminder of the rules:

            - no photo/video = it didn't happen (it's the mullet touch that got away )
            - 1 point for touching but not getting caught
            - 5 points for getting caught
            - 10 points for getting caught and ducking the punch
            - 25 points for getting caught and taking the punch

last year one of our staff captured video of another staff member petting a mullet of an attendee who was so buzzed that he didn't even know his mullet was being violated

going to miss not being there this year - my first no show after 6 years back-back attending

I think this is spot on. It was good to get the experience, but so far, we've yet to see a single sale or deal result from it. That wasn't necessarily our goal, so it's alright, but it'd be nice to recoup some of the cost.

Once we've recovered from the cost of NAMM, I think we'll look at guitar-specific shows. Do you recommend any?

It sounds like you're glad to be home.
                    Welcome back!

Very glad. I'm not the most outgoing, so more than anything, the talking all day, several days in a row was totally exhausting.

The real question, of course, is: did you touch a mullet?

But seriously, that sucks. In addition to looking for public guitar shows, maybe you could try to team up with some guitar builders. (PM...)

Cool banner and slogan, just the right middle ground, not too cocky, not too shy.

Also loved the Argentine Flag you have hanging on the wall

Thanks!! The thing on the wall in the background is actually a wax painting John did. I don't think it's of anything in particular, although if you look closely it has a bunch of random letters/numbers/symbols etched into the wax. It does sort of look like the Argentine flag, though!
