I'll stick to the guitar shows, more fun and interesting. probably cost a lot less too in the long run if you are a vendor.
The one thing that I have seen in the last years is the downed economy and its effect on the guitar shows... seems I'm seeing this problem on everything including sales on Ebay and where I live. Just doesn't seem to be a sellers market much over the last years...

for all those attending NAMM this year - don't forget to submit your entries to 'I touched the mullet' before the show closes on Sun. Reminder of the rules:
- no photo/video = it didn't happen (it's the mullet touch that got away )
- 1 point for touching but not getting caught
- 5 points for getting caught
- 10 points for getting caught and ducking the punch
- 25 points for getting caught and taking the punch
last year one of our staff captured video of another staff member petting a mullet of an attendee who was so buzzed that he didn't even know his mullet was being violated
going to miss not being there this year - my first no show after 6 years back-back attending

But seriously, that sucks. In addition to looking for public guitar shows, maybe you could try to team up with some guitar builders. (PM...)
