  • Wiring a Vintage style pickup to a push/pull knob

I have a Schecter C-1 Plus guitar that has two push/pull volume 500k pots(for coil splitting). I'm trying to wire my SH-55 Seth Lover pickup in the neck position. This only has a single conductor wire and I don't know if I can wire it normally to this type of knob. I read this thread http://music-electronics-forum.com/s...ead.php?t=7556 about how to coil split it, but I'm not even interested in doing that. My question is, can I wire this pickup normally to this push/pull 500k pot, or do I have to get a new pot in there. Thanks.

Just wire it to the pot as you normally would a standard pot and disregard the switch portion.

Im just reiterating what you are saying. So basically I just wire it normally and pulling the knob up wont do anything or it just wont have any sound?

Yes, just wire it normally. Pulling the knob up will have no effect whatsoever. The switch (push-pull) won't even be in the circuit, only the pot.

Thanks a lot for the reply. Also, there is a little thing with 6 prongs sticking out, now this might be too specific of a question, but do you know if I have to wire any of those together a certain way?

            ....

No you just wire it to the 3 prongs on the volume pot itself. The six prongs are the switch only, they will have no effect whatsoever if you only go to the 3 prongs on the volume pot and wire as normal...
