There seems to be more wide range pickup building these days.
      The covers are readily available.
I think you can get the base plates too.
That leaves the bobbins and the threaded magnets.
Shea at Magnetic Hold has the magnets, but they are pretty expensive.
I recently contacted Tone Kraft about possibly being a magnet source.
They sounded interested, and are checking into it.
I suggested they offer them in 12 and 24 packs.
6 thread out the top and six thread out the bottom per pickup.
I will get back to you on what they decide to offer, and what the costs will be.

I just looked at Tone-craft's bulk price for A-5 .531" P bass magnets and they come to $1.49ea@100pcs. I'm pretty sure we can do better than that. Perhaps these are USA Thomas-Skinner mags?

          David that is not correct.
Unless your Tone-craft is different from Tone-Kraft?
I just looked and got this.
Buy 100 or more and pay only $.39/ea USD
Look at the bottom of the page.

Oops, I just realized I was looking at the nickel plated A5's not the unplated ones. Not sure why anyone would bother with nickel plating as it wears off and magnets aren't that susceptible to rust in my experience. I guess if you've only seen early Fenders that have been drenched in sweat for 50 years you might think it was a good investment. Nickel is ferromagnetic, I wonder if it affects the flux lines at all.

That is OK, just didn't want Tone-Kraft to get a bad rap.
They seem to want to please the forum members.
I hope they can give us a decent price on the threaded magnets.
I also noticed if you buy 100 A5 .187 rod magnets at mojo they are 38 cents each.
That is also without a dealer discount. They have really dropped the price on those.
So it looks like magnets are getting competitive, and that is a good thing.
I plan on getting with Shea and see if he can do some price dropping also.
It may be the placebo effect, but I always seem to think the Shea Magnetic Hold magnets sound better!
They probably all get them from the same China Cut Throat place!

Looks like a2, a3, and a4 bar mags are now up to $3.05 at mojo, up from $2ish each.
Think I might have to switch to a different source for my next order.

And Tonekraft has been awesome for flatwork. He has hum sized p90 flats (50mm spaced) and regular p90 flats coming soon to the website as well.
You can also get the p90 flats in 48mm spacing, for another option to fit in those narrow spaced dogear p90 covers for Casino's.

                  #10-32 Thd Rod X 0.630" lg
Is that the right size the mangets need to be for a wide range pickup.
I presume that exisiting humbucker bobbins are being used, and a .190 diameter #10 screw will fit?
Not sure what bobbins, and baseplates, are being used for the 54mm covers?
It would be nice if there were a complete line of parts for the wide range pickups.

It looks like Tone-Kraft is going to order and stock these for wide range pickup use, if I interpreted the email correctly.
They should be under $2 each, and hopefully a price break if you buy them by the dozen, or 2 dozen.
Since it could take 12 magnets per pickup, or 2 dozen for 2 pickups.
Or if you just put 3 per bobbin, 12 would do 2 pickups.
Shipping would just be regular U.S. shipping, like used on other pickup products.

No more $6 shipping option it looks like either... almost $10 to ship about 20 bar magnets...

Does anyone know of another place that carries humbucker bobbins like the ones mojo carries? They are like the old guitarjones bobbins.
Also for p90 bobbins like theirs if possible.

Well they do offer free standard shipping for orders over $50 which helps a little bit. How about free expedited shipping for orders over, say, $100? The s/h prices over at StewMac can be a real deal killer but they do have their StewMax program offering free shipping for $40 or $50 a year.

P.S. Mouser should sell the tiny eyelets you need, Terry... but figuring out which stock number to use can be a real bear over there...

That was a year ago I needed the eyelets!
I ended up doing something else. Or I done it already!
A lot of those earlier parts posts are dated and no longer apply.
I just re-read them all on this thread.
Update, TK did get into the flatwork bizz, and their parts are pretty reasonable.

There are some unresolved issues with Elektrisola 42PE, & 42SPN wire, reading high ohms per foot, and small diameter.
If you order any Elektrisola wire, make sure you know what your getting.
I would recommend the wire seller mic, and ohms measure the wire before it is sent to you.
For some reason Elektrisola wire is getting smaller every year!
                            Sincerely,

I stumbled upon these pickup kits.
I no nothing about them, but they are another option, and are not priced too badly!
