ok, been away from the forum for awhile.. i think i've got my tensions right now, still no limiters made.. (its coming ..its coming.) but right off i can tell i'm going to need a little instruction. how do people get 20+k out of a humbucker?? i just dont see the room on the bobbins. any advice? not that i really need to get that high, but i'd like to be able to have a decently high output humbucker.

A smaller guage wire will have a higer resistance, thus the higher K coils. But that doesn't mean it's hotter necessarily. More winds equals higher output not resistance. Using a smaller wire will let you put more on a bobbin, but there other things to consider when doing that.

just to clarify i'm not looking to make a 20k output pickup, i just want to understand how they do. i'd be happy in the 13-15 range, but all i've done thus far are rather low SD jazz style at around 7k.
