My brother passed me a D-50 a little while ago, it was in storage for some time.
I never powered it up, but he had mentioned a battery issue and key problems to me.
A little stupid, but didnt power up the unit before starting all this.
Opened the unit and replaced 3 keys and the CR battery. Did this with extreme care.
Once completed and re-assembled, powered it up and got the
“*** Expanded Linear Synthesizer D-50 ***
Roland Corporation Musitronics” on the screen.
(I assume that is has the expansion card in the unit.) but nothing else.
Just a red light against the VALUE Key. See pic.
Then, powered it off, waited 1 min, and then on again, and now nothing, a blank screen, but still the red light next to VALUE. Tried INCREMENT and Zero startup and nothing.
If I leave the unit off for about about an hour, and power it up again, I get the same thing, the message on screen. Then power down and up, again, jsut a blank screen.
Would really appreciate some assistance from anyone that can help.
I am not an electronics person, but I will do my best.
