  • Article about Stereo Shuffling application

    Hi,

I just wrote an article about the stereo shuffling.

"Joel-Aimé: (ENGLISH)Usefulness of M / S during the mixing and mastering stage 1: Shuffling stereo. -------------------- (FRANÇAIS) Utilité du M/S (CE/CO) lors du mixage et du mastering 1: Le Shuffling Stéréo.

It is in English and French.

It is a poorly documented topic over the Internet, the most recent article I found dating from 1983.

I am looking forward for any suggestions that could improve it.

    Thank you for your attention.

M/S processing is quite widely used and lots of DAW plugins support it. If anything, looking for information on the Internet is a namespace issue. Search engines ignore punctuation, so when you type M-S, M/S or MS into a search engine, it thinks you mean Microsoft.

Try "mid side audio processing" as a search term.

And, many people probably use M/S equalization without knowing that it's called "stereo shuffling". I certainly didn't know that, although I'd used it before.

    I'll raise you 1986.

"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

You are right, my bad, i thought that article was from '83.

I mention this article in my bibliography.

It is really interesting and complete and serve me well at the start of my experimentation on Shuffling.

I really recommend it for anyone interested in that matter.
