I'm looking around for different types of capacitors to test by listening to them and the Sprague Orange drop caps seem to come up in a lot of threads.

I'm curious as to why there is such price differential on the Sprague 715P Orange Drop caps between suppliers ?

Also, I've noticed that some being sold as Sprague Orange Drop caps have "Sprague" printed on them ... and some don't ?

A heads up on what to look for would be great

    thanks

    Back to the OP.
If you're still looking for Orange Drops, TubeDepot, has them on sale.

And yes, she insisted on us listening to it to emphasize proper pronunciation.
Which in my case was doubly needed because I used to speak "Australian English"
Well, this happened around 1962 and she was already a "senior Lady" so it must have been popular in *her* youth.
      Thanks again
I think your teacher was smart. The diction in those old Fred Astaire & Ginger Rodgers movies was "proper". I think that the old movies from the 30s exemplify proper English diction better than later eras. Consider this -- if your teacher would have chosen movies from the post-war era, all of her students could be talking like film noir gangsters. Or to choose a later era, like action hero Rocky Stallone or worse yet, Arnold Schwarzenegger!

You hit the nail straight in the head.
I'm a big fan of Classic Cinema, plus being a polyglot and with great interest in word pronunciation, articulation, etc. , and one thing I noticed was that between Wars, while British Empire was at its peak, USA upper classes found pride in being "as British as possible", including fashion, language, and making some British style Cinema (among lots of other styles of course)

I shudder at the thought of that.
