Look, maybe I am the only guy, but I sure do not know all those numbers. I know a 5E3 is a Deluxe, it comes up so often. But talk about a 5E4 or a 5E13 or a 5E11, and I have no idea which amp we are talking about. I would consider it a favor if folks would include the darn model NAME along with the code, at least in the first post. Long ago I made a list, it is in the front of my binder for old Fenders. But that is over at the shop, and even then I'd have to get up from th bench and go grab the binder.
I am not an amp "fan", I am just a technician. My schematics are all filed by name, not code. So tremolux is under T, not 5E something. I appreciate the fans that have knowledge, they know what years which variations came along, they can tell you when such and such models were made, and which ones were Fullerton or Scottsdale or LAke Erie or Timbuctu. Fine, it is just like sports fans, they can tell you the scores of every world series game ever or the score of Superbowl 6, or Pele's birthday. We have the guys who can tell you how many grooves there are around a Fender skirt knob. But I am a fan of circuits and troubleshooting, not of amps. SO I may be alone, but geez, don't make me go look up what a 5E12 might be.
And just to ask, how many of you knew what a 12 was without looking it up?
