  • Samson XM 610 Power Mixer

    Hi all

    Samson XM610

    Amp 1 Main Main OK
    Amp 1 Main Mon N/W

    Amp 2 Main Main N/w
    Amp 2 Main Mon N/W

Also, unit clips at half volume

Looks to me that Amp2 board is the problem but can't find parts. Are there any obvious components I should look to replace?

    Thanks

What parts can you not find?
Good thing is one side is working, so o you have a reference.
Start with finding a schematic, then we can start with voltages. I'm on cell phone, but I think there is a thread here you can pull it from there.

Thanks for responding. I was looking to replace the Amp board but can't find any for sale. I do have a schematic from Samson..

Contrary to popular opinion, that is rarely how we repair things. As service centers we are expected to repair the circuits at component level. Only time we went for a board swap was when the old board had turned to charcoal.
Education is what you're left with after you have forgotten what you have learned.

I'm just a drummer trying to get our PA working. Not a service center here..

Although you have not done proper troubleshooting to determine if , maybe, it is a preamp problem?

How would you go about ttroubleshooting the pre-amp? I assume you would test signal with a scope, no?

You can use the front panel Main Out & Monitor Out jacks.
Send each, one at a time to another amp.

Main out front panel works (Main Main mode)

Monitor out front panel does not work (Main Monitor mode)

Keep in mind that the "Main / Monitor" selection is after those two jacks.

so when in "Main/monitor" front panel jacks are bypassed?

                              Other way around.
The jacks are before the switches.
