  • Peavey CS800 transistor subs

Got a CS800 with blown pre-drivers (7204 and 7205) Peavey subs are MPS-U10 and U60, but I can not cross to ON-Semi numbers! Does anyone know of subs for these?

  • #2
MPSU10 and MPSU60 are already industry numbers. As far as I know, On Semi has not made those MPSU series for many years.

    You have a CS800X don't you?

I have seen people use MPSW42/W92

WHen I need those I cruise my transistor collection to see what might work

Yes, the MPSW42/W92 are good subs.
If the transistor gets rather warm, you may want to consider purchasing the clip on heat sink.

        MPSU10 and MPSU60

I have a MOTHER-LOAD of those parts... somewhere. I think they are near the top of the pile.

I believe it is an 800c version.
          That's a to92 package!
Seems kind of small but the specs check out!!

OK, I'll get on the CS800C drawing.

MPSW42 is a larger TO92 case. MPSA are the regular TO92 size.

MPSW42 and 92 are obsolete can also be hard to find. I wouldn't trust ebay type chinese sources, anyone have a good source?

I have 8 of each right here on my desk.

There I just held them up to my screen.

Enzo, What is your thought on MJE15034G and MJE15035?

Would probably work. I like that series and use them in several things. They would be overkill for that spot, but overkill doesn't mean it won't work.

As always make sure the E_B_C legs go in the right holes.
