    I happen to have a cheap DMM with 1M@DCV and 750k@ACV.
    Also doesn't separate (block) DC from AC. Kind of a worst case meter.

    Input resistance can be found by wiring a 1M resistor in series with the meter and connecting to a known voltage. If the voltage reading drops to 50%, meter resistance is 1M.
    If the reading drops by 9.1% only, meter resistance is 10M.

      That's poor for a DMM. I now wonder what the first ones I had in the 70s were like. At the time most analogue meters were 20kΩ​/volt, or a really cheap one 10kΩ. I suppose a DMM with a known resistance across all ranges was some kind of improvement.

        I don't think this DMM is a rare exception. Identical looking ones (using different brand names) can be easily found on Amazon or Ebay for around 15€.

        I use mine only for the BJT Hfe function.
