  • LM237 vs LM337

    Hi,

Can I use the LM237 instead the LM337? I can't see the differences in the datasheet.

    Anybody can help?

    Thanks.

Seems the LM237 is selected for slightly better accuracy and extended operating temperature.
    Otherwise data looks identical.
    Both are negative voltage regulators.

I stand corrected and deleted my prior post. Thank you Helmholtz.

I'd never heard of the 237, but I haven't been playing with chips in a few decades. Must be newer, eh?
Definitely tighter regulation and more rugged at temperature. Nothing that would matter for musical instrument applications (as Enzo would say, 'not rocket science').
if the 337 is unobtainable, I guess it doesn't matter how much more the 237 will cost

National Semiconductor sold many of their chips in 3 grades: 1xx=Military, 2xx=Industrial, 3xx=Commercial.
