Electric Guitar Amplifier Handbook Fourth Edition
    by Jack Darr (Author)

Jack Darr's Electric Guitar Amplifier Handbook details the following: How guitar amplifiers work. How to make amp repairs properly and safely. How to troubleshoot tube and transistor amps of all sizes. Details on "typical" amp circuits And much more! Whether you're an audio engineer or a musician with a thirst for knowledge, you will find the explanations in this book easy to comprehend as long as you have a general interest in electronics and a passion for DIY. This is a new reprint of the fourth edition, originally published in 1973. Contains three sections, 'How Guitars Work', 'Service Procedures and Techniques', and 'Commercial Instrument Amplifiers.' Everything you need to know about how each part of the amp works and what to do about it if it doesn't work. The final section of the Handbook is full of schematics for many of the guitar amplifiers in use at the time including models from Ampeg, Bogen, Baldwin, Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, and others. Line drawings and photos.

I can't say enough good things about this book. My #1 recommendation for repair of guitar amps.

Link works for me. Juan, your screen shot lacks the large rectangle Amazon listing picture of the post I see here.

That's interesting, Juan; I wonder if it's because you're viewing the site from outside the U.S. of A. (the code for the book image/link is being served by Amazon)?

I think it doesn't show up when an ad blocker is being used.

If you can't see it try turning off your ad blocker then refresh the page.

                          Same here.
Turned Ad Block Plus off and now I see the book cover which I guess is clickable.

Funny thing is that when I first tried to quote your message it did not appear in the answer window like any of the others (which work normally) but my screen shows its html code, as if Adblock/Firefox considers Amazon code dangerous malware and *refuses* to run it, but shows it for analysis.
Thatīs why I had to paste an image, which of course is not an exacutable, not even text.

FWIW hereīs what a "quote" shows:

ID:	915901I see "marketplace US" in it, although turning ABP off now shows it.

Just as a curio, of course, and thanks for the link.

I bought it in Argentina in 1969 so it must have been the 1968 edition, no Internet way back then.
I had already built some of the SS projects in Popular Electronics, my first commercial product was the add-on "Reverbbbbbbbb!!!" module, but now that I had *real* Guitar amp schematics first built Gibsonīs GA5, straight out of the bookīs last pages, then a Blackface Bassman, but the real take off was building good sounding SS 100W Bass amps (something unknown in Argentina, everything was still tube powered) by coupling Ampeg BT15 preamps, again straight from Jack Darrīs book, with 100W "Tigers" , straight from Popular Electronics pages.

So I owe *everything* to Jack Darr and Popular Electronics, and very grateful for that.

I also started Engineering in 1969, plus studying A LOT on my own, so bit by bit I started designing my own from scratch, but those were the foundation.
                          Couldnīt have had better Teachers.

I use Chrome (Version 86.0.4240.75) and Adblock Plus. Adblock has two settings - one for the MEF site as a whole and another for the specific page. Once I removed the block for the specific page (this thread), the image appeared and the link to Amazon worked.

By the way, I have this book... am excellent resource.
It's not just an amp, it's an adventure!
