  • Korg AG001 host connection cable

    Hi all,

I am looking for pinout of the AG001 serial communication cable used by Korg to host computer connection.
This cable has 8-pin Mini DIN male connector at the one side and DB-9 female connector at the other.

I have checked few suchlike computer cables and detected to my surprise that all
they have different schematics (Apple’s cable has non-standard RS-232 connections,
Macintosh’s one has RS-422 connections and so on…).

For this reason, if somebody has Korg genuine AG001 cable, it would be very appreciated
if you could take some time to find connected pins and send pinout as a connection table
    or schematic.

Connectors pin arrangement is attached for reference.

    Thank you in advance.

    So what goes where?
    The DB-9...
    The 8 Pin Mini-DIN.....
I was under the impression that serail data across a DB-9 connector was a standard.
    EIA-232.

The following models used this serial interface:
      AG10 / C-8500 / C-4500 / Ci-8600 / Ci-9600 / Ci-800 / C550 / C-560 / C-900 / C350 / EC120 / EC320 / EC350 / i30 / is40 / i5M / i5S / iX300 / N1 / N1R / N5 / N5EX / NS5R / NX5R / 05/RW / X5 / X5D / X5DR / 05RW / Pa80 / TRITON Classic / XC1000, / XC2000 / XC3000if / FC500

It was designed to connect with a straight pin-for-pin lead to Apple Macintosh computers with a standard 8 pin min-DIN lead as used for printers and MIDI interfaces. Korg's own lead was called AG-002B.

For PCs, a Mini-DIN 8 to 9 Pin D lead is used called AG-001B. This is how it is wired:

I have already received this information a year ago.
But I want to thank you in any case.
