  • Yamaha DG60-112 Footswitch

    I have a Yamaha DG60-112 that has the capability to use a foot switch to switch between the A and B channels. The manual calls it a Yamaha FS-1 optional foot switch. There is an additional jack on the back of the amp to turn the reverb on and off. I bought a Marshall foot switch (I mean a foot switch is a foot switch, right!), that when plugged into the foot switch jack on the back of the amp, immediately changes the amp to the B channel and has an LED on the foot switch that is turned on. Pressing the switch only turns the LED off, it doesn't switch the channels, it remains in B. Opening up the Marshall foot switch, the switch has three terminals, the two wires from the soldered in cord goes to two of the terminals on the switch.

    The amp switches channels just fine when the front panel switch is used.

    Anyone have a schematic for the DG60-112 that can check to see if I need a DPDT switch or if there is something else unique to the amp where I would need something special for a foot switch. Perhaps a wiring for the optional FS-1 foot switch, that seems to be used with several other Yamaha products.

    Thanks;
    Larry

    The Yamaha footswitch circuit is simply looking to be pulled to ground.
    It needs a 1/4" mono plug & a single pole maintained switch.
    I do not know what the Marshall switch is wired as.
    (It sounds as if it has a stereo plug on it)
    Ditch the LED, as the circuit is not meant for one.
    Wire up the Marshall to pull the tip to ground (ring).

      Jazz P, that is what I was looking for.

      The Marshall switch is just a tip and ring, not a stereo. I opened up the switch box and the LED was in parallel across the tip and ring. I snipped one lead and everything works is as it should.

      Thank you much
