  • Schematic for a Line 6 Flextone III

I'm looking for a Flextone III service manual or something that gives the test procedures for the self check functions. The amp comes on all the LEDS light up then go out, nothing after that. I've tried the A and D channels reset procedure and the 4 lights come on but nothing happens. I realize Line 6 is a tough one but hoping some one out there can help. Thanks,

About all you really can do is check the power supplies.
    12 volt, 5 volt & 3.3 volt.

So go backwards from output then. Most chips if you can read them you can get the info sheet on them that tell you what they do. So you know where to check for audio at. Maybe it is making noise an not coming to speaker, output , etc?
Is there any voltage on the outputs? AC or DC?

Here is a link to the Line 6 Flextone II (the page is mislabeled as the III )
Link: LINE-6 FLEXTONE 3 SCH Service Manual free download, schematics, eeprom, repair info for electronics
It probably is not the same as the III.
But, it may give you some insight as to what the designers where doing. (crack?)
The main cpu drives two ic's that drive the LED's.
The main cpu needs a firm clock signal, so you may want to check that first.

I have the complete manual for the Flextone 3. I don't remember where I found it.
It's 35M so I can't post it here. I've extracted the test procedure, an external
computer is needed for some of it.

This is what I get when I try to attach the file. Send me your email address in a PM

There is more wrong than just the sound. The leds will not light when you turn the knobs either. I'm guessing if I can solve that problem the sound will come on. I even downloaded a flash ROM loader and I can't get that to load. Also, there are no voltages on the output. Thanks for your input, Bob

And which IC was that on the schematic?

When I ran the diagnostics the sdram test failed, doesn't say which one was bad tho. I had a hard time finding the IC's but did find them on EBAY. Replaced U11 and U12, both rams.
