Peavey 5150 Schematic Request

Does anybody have a copy of the Peavey 5150 schematic? All the copies I've found on the forum so far apparently were in the forum database that was "lost" and are not viewable. I have a request in to Peavey, but this is a rush job. The amp was brought back from the UK with a 220/240 power cord. I have swapped the cord for a 120V, but I don't know if the power transformer is configured for 120V. Would like to know what the transformer power output is supposed to be before I go much further on it.

The export transformer is for 220/240v and is part number 70519327. The domestic USA transformer is for 120v only and is part 70518727. Look on the transformer to see which you have. I suspect you will need a new transformer.


If in doubt, look inside the amp. There will either be wires for a dual primary or there will not.

Here's a section from the 1992 schematic seems there was a choice of 3 power transformers -Domestic,100v and export.

Thanks all, for the help. I found out that the 5150 head (not a combo) I'm working on does have the 70519327 220/240 Volt export transformer. Have to order the correct one Monday. I read where the +/-, 220/240 switch is not used on the domestic version, but is wired in on this head with the 220/240 transformer. Do I have to disconnect or do anything with it after I sub in the 120 V transformer?

I would completely disconnect the switch and also I would order that the inrush limiting thermistor (TH1) Peavey part number 70240200.
Don't forget the fuse change to a 5 amp one. Just follow the diagram in the 1992 schematic jpg I posted.

And somehow figure out a method to mark the amp as 110V/5 amp.

The 120v transformer won;t have wires for the voltage switch. When you remove the 240 transformer, just leave the switch terminals empty.

Again, thanks all. -Jazz P Bass: I think the amp started life as a U.S. version and had been reconfigured for foreign use. It is marked on the chassis at the power cord exit as 120V/60Hz and the 220/240 select switch location is marked on the chassis with the + neutral - markings.
