Don't buy that pot on that link from aliexpress as it is not exact part. The exact part is... As it it states on the schematic it is Alps RK11k112 20kb type pot. That other link is for the volume pots on these type amps.

If you are going to have to take out the board to remove and replace the pot then you might as well give cleaning it one last try. So take out the board and remove the pot. Then you bend those four tabs back and expose the pot track and wiper. At that point I would just flush it out using deoxit and even a qtip. Put the pot back together and solder it back into place. Install the board and power up to test if that cleaned it enough. After that you should replace the pot if that doesn't work.

Edit: I could not locate that exact part from a US seller. Although there might be similar parts from other manufacturers out there but nothing jumped out while I was looking for it. Also how many legs are on this pot? Schematic says 3 legs but the aliexpress part has 4 legs, which means I did not find the correct part yet.

Although this makes me think it is correct and it is a four legged creature just like my dog or cat.

On the Aliexpress website that you listed above it's showing the Pot as a volume pot, not as a LOW pot. Is it the same thing? If you say yes then I'll order it. I've been searching around the web and can't locate this Low Pot.

Sorry, I didn't see your above post. I'll try what you suggested about removing the pot completely and cleaning it again with Deoxit. I'll let you know if it has 3 or 4 legs. I'll try to get to it this week. Thanks for your help.

OK, here's the second story. I opened the KC 300 and I could see the Low Pot. What I saw was the top part of the pot where the 4 holes with the little metal tabs over them, it was cracked. So, I lifted the 4 metal tabs with a screw driver and the top half of that pot cover came off. It was cracked in half. I was able to see the inside of the pot. I squirted quite a bit of dioxit into it and rotated the pot knob a lot. I decided not to unsolder the pot because since it was cracked I figured it needs a new pot. So, the only thing is, is that I don't know if it has 3 or 4 legs. What I want to do is to sell this amp because it's just to heavy now, I want something lighter to play my keyboard through and to use on gigs. I figured I would get a better price for it if I fixed the Low Pot rather than sell it as is.The link you posted above https://tech.alpsalpine.com/prod/e/p...11/rk11k11.pdf doesn't show any price or how to order it or which one it is, the 3 or 4 legged. I'm inclined to sell it as is, what do yo think?

It's 3 leg type (edit: no, it's 4 leg), RK11K112 20KB. I don't see any electronics supplier with stock, so you would have to sub in something close, or get it from Roland. Roland part # is 01120134.

Personally I try to sell stuff "working" if at all possible.

Something "broken" is ... well .... broken.

If I buy something broken I discount $60-100 from asking price because that´s the least it will cost to repair .... sometimes it leaves peanuts or zero as residual value.

Confirm whether the pot has 3 or 4 legs. I am thinking G1 is correct that is probably 3 legs. However when you look at the specs on the 4 leg pots the fourth leg is a dummy leg.

You are right, it must be 4 leg. The RK11K112 number comes from the schematic. The alps datasheet shows that part as 4 leg with one being dummy pin.

Don't sell the amp as is... Trust me. It feels very rewarding to repair something and it will reward the contents of your wallet even greater. So we are thinking it must be a 4 legged pot, but to be 100% you are going to have to confirm. Either way I would order this pot right here if it has 4 legs. Then I would install. Then I would sell it for a lot more money. At the end of the day I would pat myself on the back and feel like I accomplished something.

You're right. That's what I'll do. Just as as added note I got this from the Roland website: , parts requiring internal access to our products are not available direct to consumers and must be installed by an

Roland Authorized service center. So, I wouldn't be able to buy this pot from Roland anyway. OK, I'll order the part now and in the meantime I'll uninstall the pot from my KC 300. I'll keep you posted and thanks again for your interest and help.

g1, thanks for posting the schematic for the KC 300 but, I don't read schematics.

Well, I just heard back from Aliexpress and my order was cancelled. They're telling me the company Timed out in sending me the pot so they're giving me a refund. I don't understand what this Timeout is and I tried getting back to them and I don't know if I succeeded. So what do I do now? Is there another company out there or do I try again with Aliexpress? It takes long in dealing with them since they're in China.
