This thread has the schematic for an 81 Special, which should just be a Bandit with doubled up output transistors (wow, never knew that one had the autoformer too!)

okay i just grabbed it (thanks)
i see it has two fuses at 1 amp. this bandit has one 3 amp internal fuse. nothing externally accessible.

i do have this one (thanks for the link) but it’s the bandit 65 1983 revision.
So this bandit is before the patent, it’s got a “circuitry patent pending” mark on it.
Pots are early 1981. It’s ground pin was clipped off so i’m fixing that before i plug it in and see what’s going on with it.

Here is one with the usual 10-80 drawing date, but with different revision dates on it.

Yep.... an '81. I continue to search for the 1980 original schematic and the April '81 revision.

here’s the inside. more cables than later models. same 4 4558 malaysia opamps (i replaced them and noise floor is lower). some older type resistors. speaker cable is molex on top through a hole to the speaker with typical peavey yellow + wire

So what exactly is the problem with this amp? Too much noise?

noise floor and scratchy pots. i sorted that out mostly by putting in new 4558 opamps. but i’d still love to have a 1981 bandit schematic.

PV customer service very kindly sent it to me, I’ve verified it against the chassis picture. The pdf is attached.
