Power transformer troubles

Getting somewhere now...

I think Steve Conner hit it on the head-- when I replaced the filament wires the oscillations are gone! So many of the wires in this amp look really oxidized and ready to disintegrate. I've replaced most of the power supply wiring now which must be an improvement.

And AFAIK most modern 6l6's can be operated safely at over 520Vp. I haven't done it. But I've read several reports here at MEF. Even if you expect to run the amp hard. Though with a UL Twin I don't know that even an industrial park is a non obtrusive place to do that.

a little off topic but just a quick note upon reading this. my 6l6gc's are running 517-520V for years now.
