    Hmm, well that sounds pretty unpredictable, something to probably be avoided. It would not reduce all frequencies then, just the highs apparently.

      Volume reduction depends on amp input impedance.
      Treble cutoff could be roughly calculated if cable capacitance is known.

      But in your case it's a matter of minutes to find out what you like better, series or parallel resistor.
