  • CTS Pot Replacement

Good evening (depending on where you live),
I'm about to replace a potentiometer in a 2020 Gibson Explorer. It says "440-70035B 1948 CTS" on the housing.
Are they just regular short, CTS 500k audio taper pots with the Gibson logo stamped on? The CTS500K (EP-086) from Allparts seems to be almost identical.
Just to clarify: I'd love to just buy the exact same, but sadly anything that says "Gibson" on it won't be delivered to where I live before December...
Allparts etc. are fine though, and in stock at most places.
    Best regards,
    Fabian Faust

Yes. They are CTS pots with a Gibson logo. "440-70035B" is a Gibson number for the CTS "450S4025". Here is the datasheet.

CTS pots are modular construction with interchangeable parts - not riveted together like (say) Taiwan Alpha. It's straightforward to uncrimp a shell and change just the wafer. CTS wipers rarely fail. You should be able to swap parts to retain the Gibson stamps, even if its just the shell.
