My favorite quote:
"The wire used in these pickups is made from polysol copper...It is the same wire used in pickup manufacturing in the 1950s and 1960s."
Frets
The traditional “medium/jumbo” fret wire is a combination nickel and silver alloy (approximately 80 percent nickel and 20 percent silver) specifically designed for long life and superior wear. After hand pressing it into the fingerboard, a machine press finishes the job to eliminate the gap between the bottom of the fret wire and the fingerboard.
There is no silver in nickel silver, and it's not 80% nickel. It's generaly 60% Copper/ 20% Nickel/ 20% Zinc.
Here... just for fun, I did some Photoshop work on that photo.
First I corrected for the perpective distortion, then you see the two coils super imposed on top of each other. Looks like the screw coil is fatter. It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Yeh you're right the coil formers are the same size, the screw heads are are the same diameter as the slugs. Winds are equal. The black tape on the upper bobbin is optically making it look different. Anyway, its one pickup I won't be buying to back engineer :-) I thought it was kind of a mistake the writer posted what alloys are used, I wonder if Gibson even read it :-) Still, its an intelligent design, there is a reason there is so much space between the coils and the poles....http://www.SDpickups.com

The screw heads are larger than the slug. David Photoshopped it at the top of the slot so the widest part of the screw is not in the photo.
