I'm just arriving to this thread at the moment. Is it just me, or has it gotten rather creepy?
To lend some normalcy to the thread, I'll just suggest that, like with surgery, you want steady hands when it comes to pickup winding. Make an efort to hire someone who doesn't:
a) have Parkinson's disease
b) have lots of allergies and constant sneezing
c) appear to be going through a drug/alchohol withdrawal of any sort
d) drink too much coffee
e) chain smoke
That's not a prejudice against any of those groups. Merely a recognition that working with fine wire requires certain traits to be successful.
But a recent study showed that women are less prone to get bored doing repetitive jobs...
That's why they are so good at nagging!
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
If I was in Seattle area I'd be interested Wolfe. Maybe I could be a satellite production facility for you...ha! Nah, I'm too busy with the day job at the moment....but maybe down the road a bit. I'd just have a bit of a learning curve to go through. You'll just have to move to Portland!
I still need to send you those cd's of the recordings of your Strat pickups in my Strat. I'll try to send them out this weekend if I remember Wolfe. I'll let you know when they're on their way.

Glad to hear things are going good for you.....

Well gitcher arse up here, cause things just took a turn for the worse (or, better, depending on how you look at it)...since I originally posted, I've been hit with two more dealer inquiries, and two more OEM inquiries.
Yeah..things are going well. Just picked up this little "Geist" two weeks ago.
We'll be down in Portland soon - this weekend - to flip a magnet that was flopped by my assembly guy, if you want a peek.
Hey Wolfe, thats a nice ride! Finally got into the 911 end of things hmm? Hope you have the dough to fix it or know a good mechanic? Those require regular maintainence to keep running in tip top shape.
If you're going to be down this way, give me a shout. I have nothing going on that is pressing. I'd love to see whatever it is you're working on.

GRRRRRR Damn it. I drive a mini van
Just Kidding, I love 911's. I see them but have never been in one.
Closest I came was my dads 944 back in the 80;s...

This car only has 37,000 original miles on it, and it's a 1985. I've got all the previous owner's maintenance paperwork, and this particular car has been extremely reliable and well taken care of. It's inspection, from one of the top 911 guys on this coast, came back absolutely stunning.
Other than "regular" maintenance, these cars are actually pretty bulletproof. It's the guys who don't take care of them and thier cars that have all the issues.
Just a quick question , was the Porsche originally RHD ?
Mick
No, this this car anyways.
Ben, the 944 cars can be got cheap for very good examples. Around $5-6000 for a spectacular one. The blue car in the picture is mine - techincally a 924S, but a 944 under it's skin.
Thats a nice car Wolfe.....I know all about the 911, since two of my uncles have had several and I've been around them all my life. They're a great car and very reliable, as long as you maintain them and don't let stuff go like you can with other cars. If you skip a valve adjustment or something like that, then you pay for it with the 911 whereas most other cars don't really care for 80,000 miles. My question to you is...where the hell are you putting all these cars?!
the first time I met Greg he showed me a tele bridge pickup and while talking to me broke the coil start. I just rewound some Rickee pickups for him and he wanted them with unsoldered magnet wire leads, I thought I bet he'll break these when he gets home. I was right. Don't hire guys who drink water in bars. Greg wants to marry an Asian girl with big hooters, hire his wife when he finds one. As a warning to others, water has none of the beneficial nutrients or vitamins that beer has. Water doesn't help you play better. Water is so cheap they give it away in bars, so how good could it really be?

The real question is why someone would go to a bar for water!
I don't drink water when I want a beer or vice versa!

[QUOTE=David Schwab;18476]The last thing I think of when I think of Asian women are big hooters (or great legs)!
I've seen a few with them though... not sure if they were born with them however...
Big hooters are not really common to most Asian women. But we do have women with great legs. You only have to go to some places like Makati City or Ortigas Center in the Philippines to see what I'm talking about. These women though, are not what you may call real natives. Most are with some traces of European or American blood in their genes. And boy!!! Do they smell good!!!
Sorry to say but Japanese and Korean women have the worst cases of bowleggedness I've seen.
