Those look similar to the Melody Maker pickups - a bar magnet in a bobbin.

I actually make a lot of those in a Strat format. They are useful on instruments with an odd number of strings and / or non-standard string arrangements, because they don't rely on individual pole pieces. My favorites use C8 bar magnets and about 8k turns of 44 AWG, with a steel plate (0.08" thick) at the bottom, but those are not the vintage specs. .

Well, I guess the hardest part here is to find the appropriate bobbin, or to make your own. I don't think I have seen any ready-made ones that can accommodate a full-length PAF magnet.
Once you've settled on something, or if this is a repair, and you have the actual bobbin & magnet, use the coil estimator ( http://www.jdguitarworks.com/coil/coil.html ) to see how many turns of 42 AWG you need to reach the 7kOhm mark.
