Good point. Chrome should allow the option to ignore by site. MS Edge allows you to choose.

Firefox allows the option to enter the site, as well.

Only problem is sometimes a system update removes the extension and I have to update the shortcut again.

You can name the shortcut "MEF Only!" and try to remember to not go to any other strange places with this shortcut. When you want to go to FaceBook or Reverb.com or s-e-x-x-x.c-o-m or wherever, close the window and start a new session in a new launching of Chrome.

Firefox can be simpler but it is becoming clearer that FF and the system have many obscure interacting options and won't work the same for everybody.

My prayers to Steve and his family.

That is a very generous and thoughtful offer. However, as I understand it, Steve (tboy) is the only person that has physical access to the MEF server and there is no backup administrator. It's quite a feat that the MEF server has kept operating for this long on it's own. I hope Steve is doing well on the road to recovery for his own health and happiness. The MEF issues will be nice to have fixed but Steve's welfare is paramount.

              • I also noticed today that there were no red characters in my browser's address window. I'm hopeful this means tboy is recovering and getting well. THAT would be the ultimate good news!

                • The site was down when I tried earlier today. I hoped that meant tboy was back and this is good news!

edit: sunn forum is no longer giving 'expired certificate' message either.

                  • It's hard to think of anyone who has been as dedicated to this enterprise, and has been faithful to it, for as long as Steve has. I wish you nothing but the best of health, and the longest damn life anyone has ever had, buddy. It was an absolute delight to click on the MEF link "just for the hell of it, to see if anything had changed", and find it alive and well, after months of "security alerts".

Is there a plan B for after this date?
Otherwise we all might lose contact.

Hope tboy recovers and gets well soon.

Actually, the fact that the SSL expires so soon is a good sign. I see that the site is using an open source SSL certificate, and hopefully this also means it gets renewed automatically every time, just like my web sites do (using cPanel or DirectAdmin).

                        • It might be significant but user tboy still hasn't logged in since March. I know Steve has other user names and can probably login invisibly as Admin.

I hope Steve is well and can fully recover. I would truly hate losing this resource.

                              • Last time this happened, the only way Firefox will allow access is through a private window.
It took weeks to fix this issue last time, no doubt there will be little change unless the site is updated automatically. It is now a free service to use https!
