I'm waiting to hear back from Pat also.
He's always very quick with my orders.
I suspect he's been effected by the LA fires, if so lets wish him the best.
I gave GJ the go-ahead on a Pro Forma Invoice on 24 Aug and no parts, no replies/contact, etc., since. No option to leave voice mail either - just says "we aren't available ... call back".
Anyway, if someone knows what might be going on with Pat and Eric I'd appreciate the info. Anyone ever order parts straight from WSC?

Let's hope they're okay. I thought that might be the case, so I looked up the location on Google Earth. There's a street view, and I doubt the storefront is/was affected. Hopefully, their homes are okay too.
The fires are one thing and I really hope that hes not affected. But I have a order pending now for TWO friggin months!!! I have tried to reach Pat, sending him e-mails for the last four weeks without any response at all. What theis really wrong with that guy. He said one item were temporarily out of stock, should be in in two to three weeks, I ask him to hold the order and ship only when he can ship a complete order, he takes my money and then nothing... Luckily I paid him through PayPal this time and I'm seriously considering contacting PayPal about this just to put some pressure on him. I don't necessarily need the part right now, but I would think that it is a minimum of politeness to at last answer my mails and tell me that "sorry, but I'm still missing one item, is it OK to wait another two week". But I get a big fat nuthin from him.
And no, my first couple of e-mails were very polite and not very upset at all...

Any current info on GJ?

Do you mean guitar jones because I was going to make a order tomorrow, but If theirs something going on. I guess I better wait.
Yep. I've always had good service from them going back to when Alex was running things. Ever now and again they seem to drop off the map for a week or two - normally associated with NAMM or something like that. This time, I sent in an order on 23 Aug and Eric sent the Invoice on the 24th. I told him it looked good and I figured the parts would be on the way. Ever since, no returned e-mail and there's no voice mail option on the phone line. I try to order about a years supply from them because of this and I've shifted to either making parts or other suppliers for certain things. Still, GJ has the best price by a mile on some stuff.
Anyway, if you try contacting them and get a response let 'em know folks are concerned. Hopefully, it's just another one of those "things" they do. Maybe family issues, etc.
Fires aren't anywhere near him, must be something else.
I know mojo has the same parts that GJ has but yes. The prices are alittle cheaper. I wanted to get the EMG style covers they had and they seem to be the only one to carry them. Ill see if I can get a hold of them before I make a order.
My last order with them was July 3rd, and I got my order right away.
Maybe they are on vacation?

I also placed an order on July 3rd. Got everything (parts for a P90) about a week later.
my last two orders requests were completely ignored. One last year and one just two weeks ago. I've pretty much given up on them. Too bad.
Well, Mojo doesn't carry Lipstick parts or mini HB parts and some other parts I need.
I know I can get the mini parts from Allparts but does anyone know if it is possible to get Lipstick parts from them? Or anywere else? I really would like to try my hands on winding lipsticks and AFAIK GJ is the only place that have them in reasonabley low quantities.
Does anyone live near Brea address that could stop by? Here's the address on my latest invoice:
Guitar Jones
278 Viking Ave
Brea, CA 92821
Tel : (714) 672-9380
Fax : (714) 672-9381
Still no answer on the phone either.
He must be gone somewhere, I got the wrong bobbins about four months ago, sent them back and never got a replacement and keep getting told the right ones are coming that week but never got them, no answers to emails this week...

Has anyone heard from him yet? I asked for a refund for the 40 bobbins I never got....nothing..

Does anyone know whether Mojo carries the same slugs as GJ?
hey poorman...long time no see.![]()
I don't think the slugs are WSC parts. Alot of their stuff is. I wonder if Guitar Jones is out of business, or maybe he's off on some big trip. Pretty strange....

The slugs look pretty much the same, except maybe slightly "yellower" in appearance. I just got a bag of 600 and took a quick look at 5 or 10 compared to a couple GJ that I have left. One of them look a bit short, so I hopefully that's not an indication of poor quality control.
This may be it for me with GJ. I've been pretty forgiving in the past because even if they are the same parts I don't know that you can have too many "sources". Too bad really. I'll have to ask Mojo if they'll carry the aged white bobbins. They started carrying the 5-40 screws within a couple/few weeks after I asked about them, so they seem open to suggestions.
Well I hope they aren't out of business... the parts I get from them aren't available anywhere else, unless I get them direct from the factories.
I guess I need to start molding my own parts as I've been wanting too.

I'm not wishing it on them (going out of business). It's pretty frustrating though. Just seems like you wouldn't bolt without some sort of message to customers if you were planning to return with the hope of keeping the customers. It's especially bad form being that they owe some folks as well. Again, hopefully it's not due to some tragic event.
This is really frustrating. We just got cleaned out by a few stores, and have no stock. GJ havent been responding to emails, but we put a 'retail' order through their website just to get us SOME parts to keep us busy until they find the time to quote us on a much larger order.
Hopefully our order turns up...
Greetings,
Its me David from Mojo. As some of you may already know I personally make decisions on what Mojo should carry in regards to guitar parts and pickup parts. Please contact me with things you are currently getting from other suppliers and I will look to see what is available to us. It takes time to add new stuff so I ask that you would please be patient with me. We currently have lots of things going on at once so I will respond as quickly as possible. My email is david AT mojotone DOT com. I would rather you contact me there rather than here because I can respond much quicker. I will look forward to hearing from any of you. Thanks for your continued support.

Don't expect too much Perry (I guess that it is you Mr Ormsby). I placed an order for parts over two months ago and I have got nothing this far. I used PayPal for the money transfer so I'm sending in an official complaint this monday if I don't get any responce at all from them until then.

I never had any luck with emails to GJ has anyone tried calling recently?
The last few orders I've placed with them were via email. I'd email them when I want, they would email me an invoice. Even with inquiries I never had to wait much longer than a day.
I can't remember ever calling them, but I might have a while back.
I wonder what's going on?

After this much time, I have to think they've just cut and run. As I recall, Alex sort of did something like that and then Pat took over. Up to now, I've only had to prod Pat once or twice on orders. For the most part, it's as David said ... e-mail the order, prompt response with an invoice, order ships. The couple of times I had to prod them I called Pat on the phone, and the order shipped the next day. This time, I've tried calling many times and sent numerous e-mails. Just makes you wonder if there is a "parent" organization that will look to step in and make things right.

Yeah, I tried a while back. Unless you can perform a bank transfer for at least 2k, buy in large quantities, and arrange your own shipping you won't benefit at all. Not to mention taxes and import duties on top of that. Also after the fact I thought about what I would do if I ran out of one stupid little part and didn't need to order all of the other stuff. I would then be left having to buy from the US distributor anyway. This is best left up to the big guys who want and can deal with that kind of headache IMO.
That's why they have distributors. I posted that because their distributor is MIA.

Couldn't hurt to send Hannah an e-mail. I'll let you know if I get a reply.
I was going to make a $2000 order with them a few months back, finally got Pat on the phone, prepared my order and tried calling them back before I made the payment. A whole week of calling and nothing so I decided not to go ahead with it, made me nervous. I hope everyone else gets this resolved somehow.
I got a prompt response from "Lia" at WSC. She's with the "Overseas Sales Department". She was apologetic and said they'd contact Guitar Jones USA and get back with me. She also asked to see the invoice that I'd received. Maybe she's planning to make good on it? I've already bought some of the more urgently needed parts from Mojo and am waiting for a reply from Mojo regarding the aged white bucker bobbins.
Anyway, I'll report when I hear back from her.
