I have a serious buzzing problem.I own a Jimmy V.Strat,an American strat with noiseless pickups,an American Tele,and a Gibson Less Paul.Whenever I plug any of the single coil guitars into my amps,Vox VT 50,a 50 watt pevey clasic, Marshall combo,a palimino 16, custom 60 watt combo,I get a horrible buzzing noise.There is no noise when no chord is pluged in.The Les Paul is not as bad but it is still audible.When I touch the strings It dies down a lot.If I hold the end of a patch chord pluged into an amp on the same power conditioner it goes away. I kwow single coil pickups have a noise problem,but this is reaaly bad

I suspect a problem with the ground on your "power conditioner". Try plugging one of the amps directly into the wall outlet. What type of power conditioner is it? The type that's basically just an outlet strip with a circuit breaker?

Allready tried that,it is a furman pl 8.I tried every outlet in the house except the bathroom hahahahh.I even turned off every breaker but the one I was plugged into.No joy.

Can you try another house?

Do you have overhead utilities? Check the nearest utility pole with a transformer. Copper thieves go around with hatchets and steal the ground wire that runs from the transformer to ground. Check the ground that goes from your main breaker panel to a ground rod.

If it is actually the sleeve of the jack - the ground contact - you are touching when the buzz goes away, then the problem might well be mains hum pickup from your body - ground your body and the noise goes away. You might get the same effect by touching the strings on your guitar or the chassis of an amp. That might be caused by something like lighting transformers in the ceiling of your house.

I do have overhead powerlines behind my house,not transmition just service.Assuming that's the problem how can I get rid of it.Please don't tell me to move hahaha

I don't have a ground withany of my mixers or studio equipment nor any of the av in my house how can I tell if I have good earth ground

I checked the pole outside the ground is intact. I checked everything in the house it seems fine. None of the other equipment in my house has a problem. There are no lightning supressors in my house.

What amp are you using.
I have had luck with a movistor across the mains input inside the amp.
Helps eliminate light dimmer triac noise.

A vox vt 50,a pevey classic 50 watt,a pallimino 16 class A tube amp,a marshall combo solid state (can't remember the type),a custom 60 watt solid state,a Galen Cruger 250 bass head and speaker. I don't have any dimmers in my house.
