Still tinkering with my VOM Champ, thinking about doing the Pentode/Triode mod, is this how it's done?:

Well I did the mod, and it works, but when I put it in triode mode there is a fair amount of hum not present in the pentode mode. Is this normal, or is it my sloppy wiring technique? thanks regis

Hi Regis, yes, in general a triode is more problematically concerning hum than a pentode, so there´s nothing to worry about. Nevertheless, a good wiring helps alot keeping your amp quiet I´m also about to build a champ. Do you think the triode-mod is worth the effort? Or does the mod do minor changes in sound? cheers, Swen
