    History of the spud wrench

    Saw something and was curious what a spud wrench was and found this and thought it interesting so

    I've always know them as a 'podger-ended' spanner, or just podger. That's a new one on me.

    I've got one of those big-ass spud wrenches used for aligning i-beams. Long long ago a family member used it at American Bridge to erect steel railroad bridges. that must've been a little over 100 years ago. A little known fact is that Chicago is the drawbridge capitol of the world.
