I know it's nuts! That is why I am so anxious about getting a schematic for it. These amplifiers started life as a Fanon FMA-100 PA amp and a fellow by the name of Ken Verlage modified the front end for guitar/bass use. The really interesting thing about this amp is the use of a dual-triode 6CY7, the gain of the first section is 68 but the second section is only 5! with a very low plate resistance that can take a peak positive swing of 1,800VDC! All this adds up to an amp that sounds unlike and other amplifier I have ever heard. Don |
