The Sky Ride was on 270 west at the Bayou Bridge.
    I know the area well.
I am born and raised here.
I live on part of the property I grew up on.
I live on 70 West near Lake Hamilton High School, toward Glenwood, Arkansas.

I build pickups for a local builder that I've known for over 15 years and we barter pickups for my fret work. Frets and nuts are the only things things that I leave to a pro. I learned a long time ago that it will cost me twice as much for fret work if I try and level them myself first

He is building me a lefty reverse Firebird (cant wait!) and re-fretting my old '72 lefty LP custom. He charges $160 for a grind and polish and $350 for a re-fret on a bound neck.
You should learn to do frets and nuts. I bet you would be good at it. I can help by pm's. I can do a CS quality fret level for $50 and its better than a pleck machine by actual verified measurements, and still make out like a bandit. I do a nut from a scratch bone blank for under a half hour labor charge.

We've still got a lot to discuss on emails. I lived there when I was young and visited a heck of a lot until I was maybe 20 or so.

Do you need the whole guitar or just the neck.
I have one I would like to get refretted.
          Make me an offer!

I can refret them but my main business is setups and fret leveling. Mostly the frets are good enough as is without re-fretting.

i just need the neck that's all, but it really helps to have the whole guitar. Also I have only a few sizes of fretwire on hand. I might have to order wires...

I love this cheap neck but the frets were cut off at too much angle.
It is real easy to push the Es off the frets.
Earlier in the week I would swapped you an old car for the work, but I sold it already. lol

                Thats very impressive Sonny.
I go through frets in a very short time. Unfortunately I usually have a death grip on the neck (I'm working on it) and I really beat the hell out of them. If I have a re-fret done with Dunlop 6,000 or 6,105 wire it might last a year or so depending on how often I play that guitar (I have 8 guitars) I love tall frets so a leveling usually leaves them below 045" which is not tall enough for my taste.

I do have a Warmoth Strat neck that came with what they listed as "6105 GD" wire. I think it might be Jescar 55090 (18% NS - SS - EVO) I've been playing that neck for years and it shows hardly any wear. It's bright sounding but I just modified the bobbins to take out some highs. It really plays nice and I love it.

I'd love to be able to do my own fret work but I've tried and it was not the best to say the least.
All of my Strat fret boards have been cut to a compound radius so that may be why I had problems with my leveling attempts.

Do you take on work if the neck/guitar is shipped to you?

                Rob.

8 at night, and I'm hardly awake. It has been so quiet lately around here. Where's all the regulars? I finished up another set of the '65 pickups, that's all. How did you like the minibuckers?

I just got them out of the wax pot before dark.
I have a low wind neck a hot wound bridge, and a fairly hot SC for the middle.
                            I will test them tomorrow.

Sounds good, I like to let them sit overnight after the potting too.
