Peavey Minx 110 cutting in and out

Long story short, borrowed this bass practice amp to brush up on some bass runs as i'm filling in on bass for a friends band for a few shows. The is perfect for home practice, the issue is it intermittently(sp?) cuts out, then comes back. Sometimes it doesn't completely cut out, but the signal decreases by 40-60% for a while, then comes back. Have the amp turned up to 3 or 4 on the dial, not even halfway up. Happens no matter what volume I set it at.

Took the thing out on my bench this morning to crack it open and see if I could find a loose wire or bad connection, but I couldn't even get the thing open. I removed all five screws for the amp chassis, 2 on top, 3 on rear panel, no dice. Tried removing the 6 front panel screws to remove the baffle and see if I could go in that way, no dice. Not sure if the baffle is glued on or what, but it seemed like it needed more oomph than I was willing to use to remove it. Is there a special trick to this, or some hidden clamps perhaps?

Does anyone have any experience ripping one of these things apart, and could maybe provide the sequence for opening this little bastard? Any diagrams, troubleshooting suggestions, etc would be greatly appreciated.

TIA.

There's a good chance it may be as simple as tarnish on the switch contacts of the effects jacks. Shoot some DeOxit in them and run a plug in and out a few times.

The amp chassis is probably stuck to the tolex.

schematic below, let me know if you have a different version.

Techineer's idea is good, it is a single insert jack on this amp. Poke it and see if the symptom either stops or starts as a result.

Likewise the headphones jack has a cutout contact for the speaker, so if that gets dirty, your symptom can result.

i also have a minx 110 that has no output volume. we have tried cleaning the input jacks, and even replacing the jack.

the only difference between the schematic you provided and our amp is the addition of a bright button.

we beleive this might be our issue. anyone have a schematic that incluceds the bright/normal button?

Peavey does, contact customer service.

Look on your serial number label - what is the actual model name? In other words Minx110 and Minx110 '98 would be different models.
