On the main forum, I try to respond now and then, but not much happening.
We used to get a few newbie questions here on occasion.
I think the Resources Thread has taken care of most of the questions.

It is definitely too quiet. I think we need more controversy. Maybe I should post about vintage NOS Capacitor tones. I've got some NOS Gudeman Vitamin Q type capacitors on my website from the actual 1960's that are killer and more. The very definition of Killer tone is anything sold on E-bay that is old and over $20 for a $1 dollar item... And everyone knows the older a part is the better it sounds...

I don't think any of them come even close. Don't know how to search for that. There is one thread with over 5000 views but none I can see with over 600 replies....

Have you tried any of those 65s with a Heavy type wire?
I like Heavy insulated wire on Strat SCs.
I guess that would make it more 63 Style.

Haven't done a '65 that way yet, but the bridge pickup in my LMS set is close. I wind that one with 42 HF. The magnets are not to the 60's stagger, I use my own, but the rest of the bobbin is the same as the '65 as far as being gray forbon with the same flatwork spacing and magnet diameter. The wind is a little hotter, closer to 1958 specs plus about 5%. And the scatter is different, but it is machine wound too. I do like the tone of that one. The mid and bridge are wound a little lower in that set more to mid 60's numbers and with even fatter wire it is close to 41 HF but it is a metric HPN.
